We took some friends from Guernsey to Euro Restaurant to impress them with some of Auckland's fine dining. What a disappointment! The 4 of us were seated at a table less than a metre square so that it became so crowded with glasses and plates that the waiter had to ask us to empty the rest of the bread out of the basket and put it on our plates to make room for the main courses.The waiter was overly familiar, patted one of us on the shoulder, chuckled after every statement, hummed along to the featured music and felt he had to twice explain that evo is extra virgin oil. Re the music, one of the tunes was "Awimaway", in my opinion not suitable for a fine dining restaurant. When we are looking again for a 'fine dining' experience we will certainly steer clear of Euro Restaurant
Being extensive travelers our comments are from experience... poor service no napkins provided until asked for, lack of knowledge of menu and in a Caesar salad charging $4 extra for a total of 4 anchovies is simply appalling. Will not recommend this establishment to anyone!
Good food, but quite expensive. Service made up for the price though, so I guess it's true that you do pay for service!
Went there Fri around 6. The floor manager and staff ignored us. The manager was very unfriendly and quite rude.
We left, never to go back there.
Visitid Euro while on holiday at Christmas. Fantastic, a huge step up from the Bistro type cuisine served in Ashburton! Dessert FANTASTIC!
I live in Sydney, but often come over the ditch, to get our arse kicked by the Kiwi's in rugby. In saying that I have found this bloody great joint called the Euro. If only we had some thing like this in Sydney, what a great place. Will be back soon for both the former and the latter!
My husband and I chose euro for a celebrationary dinner about 8 months ago, he's a chef and i'm a bar wench so of course we went along expecting to be disapointed,
no such luck:) the food was amazing the service was exceptional, and they made my husbands filthy martini just right,
5 stars from me, on ya!!
