Had heard great things about this place. I have been to Elske on two occasions and both times have been promptly ignored. At least on the second go, they at least said good morning before turning their back to make coffee. Very poorly set up and under staffed. The breads and all look great, but would really help if the service was better. I do not mind paying more for good quality, but do not really appreciate being ignored. It is very competitive out there so they had better up their game.

Oh and when I called to let them know that things had not improved since the last time I spoke to them, was told that the manager was busy and could I leave my number. That just proved to me that they do not care, so will just go to another place. I think that most of the raves about this place are for the Elske downtown, not this one in Newmarket.

Awesome, fresh, and very tasty. My local workplace love to purchase from Elske cafe, HOWEVER we have all noticed that the rolls are shorter (as well as a price increase). Come on guys - don't double short-change us!

Been here a few times, love hanging out in the lane, it really has a great vibe. More recently came here for a wine at night and they had sangria cool :) LOVE THIS SPOT!

My wife sent me in to get some bread, she has read a review for Elske and asked me to go in as I work near by. I ended up getting a coffee and what I think was a fruit tart. The service was really good and the food was delicious. I had a coffee and ended up buying a pain au chocolate for afternoon tea.I've been back to Elske since and really like the pies, the lamb and kumara is my favourite.

Went for lunch before Christmas, the coffee was just okay, but the pastry products were absolutely awful. The pastry on both the lemon tarlet & Christmas mince tart were under cooked. The Christmas mince tart pastry was thick & the filling lacked any flavour. While the filling in the lemon tartlet needed more lemon & tasted of raw egg.
Expected a real pastry delight. Read several favourable reviews before lunching here, left feeling very disappointed

Just got take-away from Elske but what a feast it was! The croissants and danishes are crispy yet soft in the middle and don't leave your hands all oily. Parking is easy, although pay and display but definitely worth it. One of the best in town for sweet treats along with C'est Fromage and Little and Friday. Also great for the vast amount of fresh bread and looks like a great coffee/lunch spot as you can watch the artisans at work! Elske is a must!

Had to try the beignets at Elske after reading they were competition for the doughnuts at Little and Friday! They were yummy - a smaller version coated with granulated sugar rather than icing sugar, with a little bit of real fruit filling. They were light and delicious! Also tried the caramel slice, which had a nice, oaty base, but quite a weak caramel flavour. Elske is a good addition to that area of Newmarket.
