Britomart Country Club offers a different dining experience in the middle of the city. I have been here twice to dine and my experience has been mostly good. I most recently visited Britomart Country Club with some friends from overseas last Saturday for lunch. It was the perfect location for a comfortable lazy lunch.

Service can be a little slow and not as attentive. But overall, the waitstaff were friendly and happy to attend to your requests when you got their attention.

Drinks-wise, can be a bit of a hit and miss. Have only tried their sangrias and juices. Their sangrias are so-so but their fresh juices are really refreshing, but a little steep for what you get. Perhaps a price to pay for it being "freshly squeezed".

Food is good. I think their strength lies in their pizzas. Haven't tried many of their mains but wasn't too impressed with it previously. They're not too bad, just okay though. Love their calamari and fries.

Overall, a great place for catch up with friends where you can get a decent meal for decent prices. My dining companions were impressed with the place and were happy with their meal. One feedback was that the toilets are a little badly designed as water from the sink splashes everywhere -- so be warned.

Britomart Country Club has to be one of my favourite bars in Auckland. Classy, yet chilled out. There is a little golf putting area and a petanque area too. Good looking people to talk to, good live music sometimes, and on Sunday nights, they have free movie nights...

Public Holidays are never the best times to head to the pub but with the World Cup in the bag, a few friends and I decided to head downtown to cheer on Beaver and the boys.
Town was rammed but pleasingly enough it wasn't too busy at Britomart Country Club just after the parade.
Obviously people (for the most) we're in a good mood and that always makes a difference. Staff were also surprisingly buzzy given the workload they would have been under.
Britomart Country Club is one of those places that is ideal for this sort of laid back, hazy afternoon - and it's an Auckland venue that is well worth checking out...just don't wait for a Rugby World Cup victory to do so!

Booked table and petanque area for birthday celebration - fantastic time had by all. Britomart Country Club is great venue, we ordered a range of pizza's that were just as tasty as they sounded. Later in the day a female waitress told us we weren't in a table service area, till then we'd had a lovely young male waiter taking our drink orders from the table - so don't know if that was crossed wires or extra special service from the waiter?! Bar service took longer, but the Britomart Country Club was packed pre rugby games. Great atmosphere - loved the Pimms. Will be back!!

We were realllllly disappointed with the service! Britomart Country Club is a great concept, and the space is awesome, but.... honestly 8 staff to no more than 8 tables on a late Friday lunch and the service was a baby step away from serving yourself. Every single wait staff member seemed to be preoccupied with either flirting with the bar staff (back turned to the floor), or chatting with friends. Having worked hospo in the past myself, I am well aware of the issues that surround change of shift in the mid to late afternoon, but this was ridiculous. We were seated and orders taken initially for nibbles and a drink, indicating table service, but were then pretty much abandoned for the next 2 hours.NOT A PLACE I WOULD EVER TAKE A CLIENT!and frankly not a place I intend on returning to any time soon.... Britomart Country Club sort out your staff! That includes the floor manager who should be vaguely observant. We seriously would have spent almost twice as much if someone had bothered to ask, just once (in 2 hours), if we would like another drink, or something else to eat....we were willing customers, but after many failed attempts at catching an eye, we found ourselves asking for a drink at the bar...we had long since lost the appetite that had us pondering further food, and then 'one for the road' became almost impossible so we opted to leave. The bill was incorrectly calculated, but we were not aware until after we had paid as a bill was never offered to review prior to the eftpos transaction. Worth the hassle to point it out....hell no!

Had a few drinks here tonight before dinner at nearby Ebisu (also in Britomart - now such a destination). I'd heard so many cool thinks about Britomart Country Club and pleased to see the BBC lived up to expectations.
Good wine list and even on a Tuesday night, still quite edgy...looking for a few more Britomart Country Club sessions when I'm not pressed for time!

One of the most enjoyable lunches I've had in a long time. We were a little concerned when it started raining on our way down there, but Britomart Country Club is completely water-tight and surprisingly warm. The four of us shared two pizzas; the Santa Rosa, which had a lovely chorizo topping and another pizza with wild boar and kumara. The drinks were also very good, we sampled a pimms jug and a mandarin cocktail. Service was excellent, Britomart Country Club was full but our pizzas still arrived within a few minutes of our order, our waitress was very friendly and her drink suggestions were certainly a hit. The music was possibly a little quiet but that's being picky. Haven't been there in the evening yet but will hopefully take the girls back there soon.

fresh concept - id read mixed things about Britomart Country Club (on this site and others) so was keen to check it our last week when catching up with a few mates.
First thing - setting. I't Britomart location is the perfect starting point - have a few drinks early on a saturday afternoon and you're set for a good night.
Vibe - all good - everyong seems to be pretty relaxed - yes, there are some too cool for school cats about but you do expect that. Good tunes (at the right sound level) make for a buzzy atmosphere.
Pricing - definately a bit steeper than most of the other places I've been to especially cocktails.
Overall - Britomart Country Club is easily one of the more relaxed venues in this part of town and recommended.

Although fairly new, Britomart Country Club is consistently good! Had after-work drinks there last night and to man (and woman) I'm pretty confident in saying that we all enjoyed our BCC experience!

What a great concept and such warm friendly service, the maitre de was charming and our waitress was lovely. My Husband and I shared a pizza, we even stayed on after lunch to play Jinga and a bit of golf, cant wait to waste away another weekend afternoon at Britomart Country Club again.

I've found the service to be not too bad - certainly not as bad as the other reviews have said. Love the whole concept of the britomart country club - sadly this city lacks any true beer gardens but if you've got a few hours to kill you cant go wrong with the bcc. Grab a jug and practice your putting (bit like the old 'can a hole' comps) - thats a sport I could get used to.

We arrived at the Country Club at about 7pm on a Friday night and what a surprise. A couple of friends had mentioned this place was worth checking out but we were totally blown away with what we discovered. This is a truly unique bar, a cocktail list that has jugs of Sangria and Long Island Iced Teas, an adorable restaurant on pebbles and a huge garden bar filled with people. We were looked after by a lovely waitress who convinced us to try a gourmet pizza even though we had already eatten an hour earlier! If there is anything to complain about it is only that there are smokers everywhere (it was a busy night and the waitress told us there was a function that had filled the bar area up). It was also difficult for my partner to find the Men's (it's at the back exit in one of the containers that surround the club f.y.i) Other than that we totally loved the place. I can't wait to discover what other gems that area of downtown is hiding

Do you have any respect for yourself..
No, I thought not.

Never ever in my life have I had such incompetent service.
I don't expect the best cocktails, fine dining or silver spoon service.
But when you scoop ice with your glassware, or stick your hand in, suggest I hurry up with my ordering then don't write It down and get It wrong. Serve your friends first, when those around have been waiting for ages. The pizzas are confused, the skewers burnt, the spirit selection average. The service well, worse than It is in there big brother venue next door, which I'd considered impossible until this point.

Too much money on fit out, how about you train your staff first.

Totally agree!!!! Don't know about big brother...almost can't be bothered to find out after the Britomart Country Club experience. Have we no standards in our hospo industry anymore!?!! - Report

Best new bar in town! The staff's vintage sporting uniforms are a crack-up.
Britomart Country Club is awesome (and perfect for these hot, sunny afternoons)
