The Cav is a Ponsonby institution for everything from an upmarket lunch and dinner venue, through to a great place to meet for a couple of relaxing beers or a glass of wine or two.

Our talented kitchen, recently overhauled by Eugene Hamilton from Euro, offers an extensive menu featuring succulent, modern cuisine based on good value for money.

The restaurant offers unrivaled cuisine, a brunch venue where families can feel comfortable on weekends; and for those who like to party, The Cav evolves at night into a premier venue with great music and a vibrant atmosphere.

Overloaded with colour, Neighbourhood resembles an imaginary playground, once inside all seriousness drops away from the outside world, reiterating Mac’s fundamental slogan: Here’s To Interesting. With trendy dive-bars popping up left, right and centre, Neighbourhood yearned to bring interesting back into the bar landscape. The renovated bar space is unconventional; it breathes life into what a bar could be. Neighbourhood is full of vibrant colours and bespoke artwork, inevitably creating an entirely unique space, which welcomes everyone.

Loved by locals for it’s casual, yet modern vibe, Neighbourhood is perfect for all occasions, be it Sunday sessions, catch-ups or date-nights. The big screens attract rugby fans, not to mention the quick walk from Eden Park making it the perfect spot for a pre-game meal.

Long before we were all on the dog and bone, news only got as far as the Postman would roam. And early Glenfield was no exception – with a local Postman who truly made his mark on this route. An amputee on an account of a timber saw milling tragedy, he was the type who refused to let life’s mishaps put him on the back foot. Fashioning a footless harness for his horse he ran letters between Birkenhead and Dairyflat and not a single dog nipping at his ankle flustered him in all of 16 years. So before the last leg of your journey home take a load off and enjoy our food and drinks – what ever you choose we know at The Postman's Leg you can’t put a foot wrong. Come enjoy the best address in town.
