A stone’s throw away from the intersection of Hopetoun, Ponsonby and Crummer, Barrio is an establishment where locals gather to eat, laugh dance and drink.
In a heritage building that boasts a long and colourful history, Barrio has a large open courtyard and bar facing Ponsonby Road that attracts the sun in summer and is heated in winter. An intimate upstairs lounge is available for functions, parties and business meetings.

Fantastic night celebrating Sene's 50th birthday function at Barrio. Roger and staff very friendly and went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome! Great music and enjoyed the food. Highly recommend to have a private function there.
We will be going back to Barrio! Fantastic facilities, especially outdoor courtyard.
Thank you Roger and Staff.

Perfect place for a function !! I have been to two there now and both times had a fantastic night. Coopers on tap and great cocktails and friendly staff !! They have a great upstairs area as well.... Highly recommend it.
Love Barrio for great music! Often find Bevan Keys playing on a Friday night. Roger always looks after us and the wine list has a good selection.
Another great night at barrio, had my 40th birthday there. Roger and his staff were fantastic hosts.
Great wine list and loved the coopers on tap. We will definitely be back
Wowsers, that barhopper review was harsh! someone was having a bad day there...We went along to the Taco Truck event at Barrio this Sunday just gone, I think its a monthly occurence? anyhow, the food was AMAZING and only 8 bucks for 2 Tacos! prepared right in front of us in the courtyard. loved the Coopers Beer on tap, and a pretty good wine selection for the wife.have popped into Barrio on a few evenings and always found it a great place to hang out and lounge about with friends.keep up the good work Barrio crew!
Barrio bar is a waste of space on Ponsonby Road. Terrible service, rude bartenders and an even more unpleasant manager. The only reason I am giving Barrio one star is because this website won't let me give zero.
My advice to you, go somewhere else. Anywhere else.
I pop into Barrio last Thursday night and was stoked to find Bevan Keys behind the turntables. Things just kept getting better when I ordered. The wine list at Barrio is simple and surprisingly cheap and the squid was melt in your mouth. I can't wait to go back there.
