Auckland's Best Garden Bars
Auckland has some fantastic outdoor bars thanks to our great climate. Here at View Auckland we’re fans of both the outdoors and bars so we thought we’d take it upon ourselves to complete the tough task of scouring the land to find the city’s best garden bars. You should check them out, enjoy a pint on our behalf!
The Backyard
Definitely one of the Shore’s best bars this place has sweet tunes and a real relaxed environment. There’s also a freakin’ swimming pool! How many bars have one of those?
Britomart Country Club
BCC is the new kid on the block but you simply can't get a cooler address than one with
Britomart in it. Petanque, a putting green and some very cool design ensure the Britomart Country Club will be ever-popular throughout these long, hot summers. One of the best garden bars in Auckland without doubt.
Fort Street Union
Fort Street Union is a pub with a twist. A little bit of cool, a little bit of the familiar and a little bit of surprise. Created within an impressive heritage space and with a huge rooftop garden courtyard, Fort Street Union serves honest food and classic drinks.
Leigh Sawmill Cafe
If you're into live music and you don't fancy the confined spaces in the CBD, head north for an hour and you'll find the Sawmill...and while you're there make sure to try a gourmet pizza!
Northcote Tavern
With an expansive lawn and outdoor area, this grand old lady of the Auckland entertainment scene has been attracting keen punters for over a century now. It’s also one of the largest garden bars in New Zealand.
Puhoi Pub & Hotel
The Puhoi Pub has become a legendary weekend destination and well worth the drive. Expansive grounds and an 'anything goes' approach should ensure you enjoy yourself at the Puhoi!
