What Every New Zealander Should Know About Today’s Youth Issues

On Easter Monday, April 5th, India’s fifth most powerful man* and a globally renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is bringing his ancient wisdom to New Zealand for one night only at the Trusts Stadium Arena, Henderson. (*source: Forbes magazine, 2009)

While the talk will focus on conflict resolution, women’s empowerment and the achievement of a stress-free mind and a disease-free body, among other topics, it will also address a growing concern in New Zealand – issues facing our youth.

“Here in New Zealand the problems are widespread, from P labs in Remuera to tragically preventable youth road deaths, but the issues you face are not your own, they are mirrored around the world,” says Sri Sri. “Since 1981, the AOLF has been helping millions of people with the issues facing today’s youth. We have practical solutions and guidance that has worked globally to change lives and it can work for New Zealand’s youth too.”

The Dalai Lama, UN Secretary-General Bank Ki Moon and US Vice-President Joe Biden all vouch for the AOLF programmes. One, the Youth Empowerment Seminar (YES), is a programme that provides teens aged 14-17 with a comprehensive toolbox to both manage their emotions and stress, as well as dynamically navigate through adolescence.
