AUCKLAND HOT 5 - APRIL 2017
Auckland Hot 5 - April 2017
TAKE YOUR PICK
Sure, it’s hard to top a month that includes multiple sold-out Adele shows and the Biebs however we think April will serve music fans just nicely, with a diverse range of artists jotting down over the next 30 days. You’ve got music icons joining forces in the form of Cyndi Lauper and Blondie
, Snarky Puppy
doing their thing, and Santana
, Mavis Staples
all adding to the flavour.
You’ve got a little while to wait but the wait will be oh so worth it - The International Comedy Fest kicks off this month and for that reason alone, you should be very excited. This year’s line up is both diverse and accessible - proving there’s literally something for everyone to laugh at. Check out a few of our recommendations here
IT IS> THE SIZE THAT COUNTS
Speaking of big - Auckland plays host to the world’s largest multi sport event this month and the upshot is you can get amongst the festivities without even breaking a sweat. Queens Wharf will host the majority of social events but look our around town for festival events and whatever you do, make sure you get along to the games and cheer the competitors on.
A host of new bars and eateries have caught our eye over the last few weeks so now that the weather is (unfortunately) taking a dive for the worst, there’s no better time than the present to get out and sample these newcombers. The Good Home
opened it’s doors a few weeks back (check out our prizes channel if you want a chance to score vouchers), as did the Orakei Village jewel Brothers Beer
. Shore-siders have also got the recently opened Master and Apprentice
and upcoming opening of Bedford Soda
to look forward to.
GET ‘EM WHILE THEY’RE HOT
Forget chocolate, the real Easter foody debate comes when we talk Hot Cross Buns. Ok, so they're not to everyone's liking and they certainly aren't one or even two a penny (thanks, inflation), but in the lead up to Easter, they're still as popular as ever. Here’s our handy guide to getting yourmunch
