I attended the premiere of A City in Ruins last night at the readings cinema in Christchurch. A fantastic and thought provoking watch, throughout the film were interviews with people who were affected by the quakes Some very sad moments and some very light hearted ones too.
The cinematography by Gerard Smyth was fabulous considering it was filmed on a digital camera and not film.
The film was put together very tastefully it certainly is "The Peoples Story"
There were about 450 people watching in two cinemas no one left before the last credit rolled and by the applause everyone appreciated the film.
I feel this is a must watch to understand how people get together and help in a time of uncertainty. It is a very different insite into our disaster here, a far more in depth take than the news video we have seen over the past year.
