i thought this movie was mad... really liked it
I was a little insure if i would enjoy Valentine's Day but my wife wanted to, So i went along, It was actually pretty good, Ok it was your usual happy ending love story type movie, But it was pretty funny....I would deff recommend going to see it before it leaves cinemas! and going by the laughter in the cinema....everyone else enjoyed it too!!!
Yes, the film was packed with a lot of big named actors, & knowing that, yes, there's always going to be an air of anticipation as to whether or not these actors can pull off a movie revolved around a "cliche" of such a dedicated day, but the storyline was well written & I just love those types of movies where all the individual stories end up having a connection with each other. All involved did a great job & I loved that I wasn't able to predict one aspect in one of the stories, was totally surprised. Great ending in the cemetery with Shirley MacLaine too!
Yeah-Yeah! Light, Fluffy, Silly, Predictable, Yada Yada Yada!
I went to see Valentines Day ON Valentines Day WITH my Valentine ..... AND I LOVED IT!
This is the worst and most predictable movie I've seen in the past year. Yeah, everyone looks cute and pretty and it covers every demographic (a cynical marketing ploy, obviously) but there is no depth whatsoever, and no genuine moments to be found. At no time was I moved, and while I was occasionally quite amused, this was - sadly - only ever at the clumsy lack of subtlety in the script. Basically, Ashton Kutcher plays a "lovable florist, who can't see that his own true love is right in front of him... like a special, hidden flower just waiting to be plucked... and sniffed..." (sorry, I just can't resist resorting to sarcasm whenever I think about it). When it's not playing out as trite and contrived, this film veers right into being revoltingly cloying. If inexplicable close ups on cute dogs - and an absolutely shameless shot of an adorable looking little boy planting a kiss on an equally adorable little girl - strike you as sweet and romantic and make you go "Awww", you'll probably really enjoy this film. If you think it sounds like lazy and manipulative film making, and about as original as appealing as a prechewed toffee, then stay well away.
I agree, listening to the teenage girl's hyperventilating was funny!
If you are in need for some great fun and looking for a laugh, head to this movie and you won't be disappointed!
Is this movie meant to be taken seriously?
I actually enjoyed it- mainly because I LOVED listening to the teenage girls hyperventilating every time Taylor Lautner was on screen, I thought Taylor Swift was so funny as a ditzy dumb blond, and it fulfilled some many bad american romantic stereotypes it became fun to see if they'd pull another out of the bag.
Love Actually it's not. But it WAS fun.
(Especially when wedged between couples who bickered before and after the movie, just for that hint of realism)
