The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1

I’ve seen all the Twilight movies and have enjoyed them thoroughly. Sometimes sequels take the original story in a totally different direction that interferes with the natural flow of the story, but this did not. It was as if it was the day after the “the eclipse sequel”. This movie did seem to take a little too long before the action got started. After all, I am an action movie lover. But that maybe because lingered on the love scenes a little longer than I would have liked. The wedding was just breathtaking. I wish I could have afforded such lavish honeymoon when I got married years ago. But once the action started…it didn’t stop. Which I really loved! And when the movie was at its best it was over. I can’t wait to watch the last sequel. I would even pay someone to get my hands on an exclusive copy. I rate this movie….A MUST SEE! www.moviesthatmotivate.com
Thoroughly enjoyed it. My daughter and I have read the books and gone to every movie together, and loved this one. She reckons it's the best one yet (although that could be because Jacob looks hotter in this one than he has in any of the others...), and we can't wait for part 2.
If you loved the books, you'll love the movie. If you've never read the books, you'll wonder what the hell is going on.
You get shirtless Jacob, mopey Bella and Edward actually smiles on multiple occasions. The parts they did well (the wedding, honeymoon, birth scene etc) they did really well. The parts they did badly, like the wolves acting, they did really badly. There were a few funny moments, although I don't think it was supposed to be funny!!
I would definitely recommend the movie to anyone who enjoys the books, or who enjoyed the previous movies, however it's not for those who have no interest in the Twilight series. Without an interest, the movie seems awkward, odd and kind of boring.
Really enjoyed it! I took two 13yr olds with me, who loved it. The picture theatre was filled with women of all ages, who left with big smiles on their faces; so by the looks of it, we weren't the only ones to enjoy it.
The books are still better, but this was very close to the books.
Looking forward to the last instalment.
Loved it! As a massive fan of the books and movies I was really impressed with this latest installment, especially since Breaking Dawn was my least favourite book but it's won my heart over as favourite movie from the saga so far. Bill Condon has definitely exceeded all my expectations and has mostly stayed true to the book. I was disappointed with the last movies when there's wasn't nearly enough interaction with the other character apart from the main 3. This time we got to see a lot more of this. Kristen Stewart's acting has improved so much, she did an amazing job especially during her pregnancy and much anticipated 'gory' birth scene. Definitely going to see Breaking Dawn part 1 again when i have a chance
I was so excited about going to watch this movie, and while it was pretty much like I expected there were a few special moments.... The Alpha wolf scene springs to mind, the destruction of the bed and pillows and the Birthing scene was great, I loved it! Although I do believe we may have been a little short changed as I watched Ellen (Ellen Degeneres's show) where she had the stars from the movie and got to see the extended scenes (LOL - you gotta watch it!!) but sadly it looks like they cut that scene out :-). I thought that "human minute" was hilarious and it reminded me of my own wedding and wedding night worrying and nervous. All in all I think I may just have to chew some jelly babies of my hubby in a desperate attempt to survive the wait until part 2 comes out while having our own little re-enactment at home:-)
Verdict - A great movie, filled with a variety of emotions and I felt that it held pretty close to the book considering the PG13 rating.
I watched Breaking Dawn at the premiere in Tauranga at 12.01 last Thursday morning. The 3 or 4 cinema's that were doing the special screening were packed! The atmosphere in our cinema was excited and impatient for the movie to start! One of the ladies we went with got so excited at the start that she spilled half of her full popcorn on the poor movie goers in-front of her! hehe
I would have to say Breaking Dawn Part 1, was everything i was expecting! A beautiful wedding scene, romance, a gorgeous honeymoon location, some laughs, shirtless guys walking round, creative fight scenes (even if it was a little hard to see what was happening at times) and conservative sex scenes for the M rating.
The end was just a little tease to start you counting down the days until Breaking Dawn Part 2 is out at the cinema's.
I didn't stay for the credits but according to a friend of mine there is a special little bit extra to watch, for all that stay right till the end :)
I'll definitely be watching this again!
And waiting ever so impatiently for Breaking Dawn Part 2.
I'd say this will be a great movie for a girls night out! and give it 4 stars.
Needed MORE shirtless Jacob scenes and less baby life sapping scenes. But seriously,I expected Edwards to be more angst ridden when Bella was pregnant,it didn't really capture the devastation like it does in the book.I think Part 1 was the scene setter,Part 2 is where all the action will be.

Ugh. Really? Did they need to break this into two parts? Sigh.
