It won’t win an Oscar. It doesn’t accurately portray history. It doesn’t interpret Dumas’ classic tale correctly. But it is FUN! If you leave the pomp at the door and take in an easygoing attitude, then you will love this movie. It’s big, it’s loud and it’s fun! Think Matrix come Pirates of the Carribean come Mission Impossible, add in some gorgeous CGI scenery of what Paris and London would have looked like in the 17th century and some gorgeous costumes and you have fun and frivolous two hours. It’s full of illogic, inconsistencies and anachronisms, but serious analysis aside, sometimes you just need to watch a film for entertainment! And this film surely entertains.
