I went to this movie expecting quite a lot after hearing many positive things about it. It was entertaining, funny and had some great actors, but I felt like some of the personal stories could have been explored a bit further to make it a really great movie.

There was a distinct lack of laughs in this movie, I expected so much from such an amazing cast but such wonder did not come to fruition. Alas, see it just for Maggie Smith.

If your feeling a little down and want a pick me up then get yourself to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
The main attraction initially for me was the cast, great well seasoned actors lead by Dame Judi Dench and Bill Nighy pull off a relaxed and witty display backed up by the superstar to be Dev Patel.
Story starts by portraying several elderly subjects all fed up with there current life so decide to get away from in all at the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel ran by the aforementioned love sick Dev Patel.
There is a complete blend in personalities from a racist hip replacement patient to a stereotypical "dirty old man".
Being set in India it has the predictable enlightening experiences for the characters and I found the finale a little weak. The other negative I would say is Dev Patel just doesn't feature as much as he should.

Other than that I loved it and time flew by whilst I chuckled away to the obvious jokes. Best line is "things turn out good in the end and if they are not good then it is not the end"

The was even an applause in the screening I attended so that tells you all you need to know.
