The Force Awakens is Star Wars going back to basics. The story line, the characters, the screen play, it's all excellent. JJ Abrams has done an excellent job of bringing the essence of the movies back. It's a great watch, even if you haven't seen any of the other movies previously. I am already impatiently waiting for the next movie!

JJ Abrams has excelled again. As he did with the Star Trek franchise Abrams has resurrected the Star Wars story brilliantly. As one who is old enough to have attended the first Star Wars in 1977 I was waiting in anticipation with this one and attended a 12:01 screening. I've seen it twice more since. There is a good story, plenty of action and the return of familiar characters. JJ Abrams has also done a great job linking this movie to the first tri-ology with a number of scenes mirroring one in the first set of movies. SPOILER ALERT. The first movie starts on the desert planet of Tatooine, this one has the desert planet of Jakku. Luke finds a droid with a secret, R2-D2, Rey has BB-8. Both try to find the droid's owner. Leia tells Han that there is still good in Kylo Ren in the same manner that Luke defended his father, Darth Vader. There are more links but I'll leave you to find them yourselves. It's a great movie, I've seen it in both 2D and 3D and reckon it's just as good in the standard format. I can't wait for the next one.

Finally seen the much anticipated new Star Wars episode. And it was fantastic! Beautifully done and with just the right balance of drama, action and comedy. Doesn't matter if you're a die hard fan or barely remember the previous films - enjoyable for everyone. Expect to laugh, cry and be left wanting more! Impatiently am waiting for the next instalment I.
