I do not know how I came across the movie Romantics Anonymous however it was really great.

The characters are all likeable and you can relate to them from the first few minutes into the film. Isabelle Carré is delightfully awkward as the divine Angélique Delange and Benoît Poelvoorde is perfect as Jean-René Van Den Hugde the socially awkward (and immensely loveable) chocolatier.

One of the best scenes is their first date, despite being absolutely cringe worthy you cannot take your eyes off them. Oh and the plain shirt vs. ruffled shirt is enough to send him completely AWOL.

Honestly, if Amelie had, had a sister then Angélique would be her.

Not a typical Romantic-Comedy but delightful to watch.

What a wonderful movie! The characters are charming and likeable right from the beginning. The story is a typical rom-com but it is written superbly and has a slightly deeper message than appears on the surface. It is filmed beautifully and has some truly amazing settings that are so unspoilt and quaint that you will think the director had sets built. I recommend this movie for girls nights but it is also suitable for couples if both partners enjoy French movies.
