One out of Five stars
Running time: 95 mins

Poorly directed, badly acted and clearly written by idiots, this is one of the worst films of the year.

What's it all about?
Milo Ventimiglia (from Heroes) stars as Doctor Ted Grey, who accepts an internship at a morgue, leaving his beautiful fiancee Gwen (Alyssa Milano) behind in their home town. Soon he's hanging around with a bad crowd, led by borderline psychotic Doctor Jake Gallo (Michael Weston), and it isn't long before he's smoking crack, shagging sexy fellow intern Juliette (Lauren Lee Smith) and playing a deadly game whereby everyone murders someone and challenges the others to work out how they did it.

However, after a murder or two, Ted decides he wants out and things turn predictably nasty. And as if that wasn't bad enough, Gwen announces that she's moving in with him, which seriously jeopardises his crack-smoking, sex-amongst-the-corpses lifestyle.

The Bad
This is utterly ridiculous from start to finish. Ted's an unlikeable lead character even before he gets involved in all the crack-smoking and murdering, let alone the cheating on his girlfriend. As a result, Ventimiglia does a lot of glowering and not much else, while Weston overracts wildly as Jake.

The script is shockingly bad, to the point where whole scenes seem to be missing as the plot veers from one ridiculous moment to the next. Occasionally you get a so-bad-it's-good moment, such as an out-of-nowhere explosion or a particularly gruesome autopsy scene scored with sentimental love scene-type music, but these aren't enough to make up for the awfulness of everything else.

The Worst
Unsurprisingly for this kind of film, Pathology seems fixated on gory moments, so there's lots of slicing, brain removal, chest cavity opening and that sort of thing. Director Marc Schoelermann also seems overly fond of shots of naked corpses and there are one or two shots in particular that tip the film into outright tastelessness.

Worth seeing?
This is genuinely painful to watch and is easily one of the worst films of the year. Avoid like your life depended on it.
