I love the franchise but now that we’re at #6 I think we’re getting a tad same-y. There’s some acrobatics, a motorcycle chase, the classic Tom Cruise running sequence, the rubber mask double-cross, cliffhanging... Sure, it all looks great but sometimes you start to guess things based on the knowledge of what the usual elements are.
Still worth watching though - stunning locations and views, amazing quality of production and especially for Kiwis there’s a breathtaking helicopter race filmed around theQueenstown area that’s meant to represent Kashmir in the film. Also, the great and scary super intense Ian Harris is back!
As the previous reviewer mentioned, I also forget most of MIs starting from #3, so I am not sure how much of this I will retain over the years. My favourite is and probably always will be MI2.

I was surprised to learn this is the 6th Mission: Impossible movie - I've seen and enjoyed them all, they're just not that memorable afterwards. If you've seen any of the prior movies, expect more of the same: exciting fight scenes, action which will have your palms sweaty and a lot of drama. I particularly loved the scenes involving aircraft, lucky timing and seriously close calls as well as the comedy Simon Pegg's character bought. A long movie by my standards at 2hrs 28min but the time flies.
