Out Takes Film Festival 2011
Out Takes: A Reel Queer Film Festival is one of New Zealand's largest film festivals and one of very few queer cultural events that has a national profile among New Zealand's diverse queer communities.

We're excited for this year's festival so we've chucked together some of the more interesting films that we're looking forward to. Have a look at our guide, then get out there and check out the festival yourself! The 2011 Festival runs from May 26 in Auckland and June 2 in Wellington. For more information check out the Festival's website.

This is a documentary about the story of Jerusalem's only gay bar, Shushan. It follows the lives of the Israeli and Palestinian patrons as they try to live and love openly. The film looks interesting in that it shows a world far removed from our own where real people face problems of acceptance we can all relate to.
