Latest Movie News - 2nd November 2009

First trailer for Paul Greengrass' Green Zone starring Matt Damon is out - the movie reteams the Bourne trilogy duo and is set in the early days of the US invasion of Iraq.

-------------------------------------------------

The lack of knowing whether or not franchise director Barry Sonnenfeld or stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will star hasn't stopped Columbia Pictures announcing Men In Black 3 will start filming in 2010.Tropic Thunder scribe Etan Cohen is on board  for writing duties.

-------------------------------------------------

On a theme with the post-apocalyptic 2012 hitting our screens soon (check out our fantastic free screening in Wellington), check out
the new trailer for The Road, directed by John Hillcoat and starring Viggo Mortensen, Guy Pearce and Charlize Theron.

-------------------------------------------------

OMG - the most exciting Alien news, as a HUGE fan of the Ridley Scott directed sci-fi suspense classic Alien rather than the typical hollywood guns-n-guts sequels (shame on you Jim Cameron), Scott is well into planning his Alien prequel. Hinting only that it will be set 30 years prior to the original.

-------------------------------------------------

Sticking with the Sci-fi theme - check out the theatrical trailer for James Cameron's Avatar.

-------------------------------------------------

Paranormal Activity, made for around US$11,000 is online for raking in $100m in the US alone - so no suprise
a sequel is already planned!

-------------------------------------------------

Other less interesting but still worth a mention news;

1) Roger Zemeckis let slip the writers of Who Framed Roger Rabbit are penning a sequel - God help us!
2) John Rhys-Davies, Gimli in LOTR, is not to take a roll in The Hobbit nor its sequel.
3) Ghostbusters 3 looks set to go ahead with Dan Aykroyd but without Bill Murray
