This hugely popular place is a time-savvy, lively and fun dining option, perfect before a movie at the Lido picturehouse. Book early to secure a booth downstairs where you can be part of the atmosphere and join in greeting, thanking and farewell-ing punters each time the gong is struck. Otherwise, opt for pillow-seating upstairs by the karaoke. Sitting at the counter downstairs is an experience in itself and you get to see the dexterous way in which the little prawn balls are rolled about with toothpicks and cooked till golden brown. Sashimi platters are always fresh and the scallops are good, but the current menu is not as inspiring as it once was. Beware of BYOW charges ($8 per bottle at last visit, kind of negates the cost benefit of bringing your own). Lots of fun, food pretty good, great atmosphere and location.
